China Bowl

Nice to see, nice to hold
Once broken considered sold

Saya pasti mereka hangat memperkatakan tentang saya. Katalah, cercalah. Saya langsung tidak kisah malah saya merasa lega kerana sekurang-kurangnya saya, mahupun mereka tidak perlu membuang masa bercakap sembrono mengenai saya.

Kepada mereka yang terasa, maaflah, to be honest with, you've started it.

Procrastinate

Do you procrastinate in life?

But before I go on with today's topic, what is procrastinate?

For those whose not familiar with this term, procrastinate in my definition is a disease. In fact, it's very dangerous as it could corrupt a person, business or even an organisation.

Procrastinate is also a habit. It's a human behaviour whereby the human will tend to do less productive work such as their everyday job descriptions but concentrates on less productive thing such as attending a meeting without a specified goals and deadlines.

Other example of procrastinate is reading your emails, news and for some their social network page before starting their daily tasks.

In another words, procrastinate is a habit of putting less important things in life before the most important ones.

Well, one might be thinking or perhaps giving this reasons, "I read news, checked my emails early in the morning to know what's happening around me and hence I know what's going on around the globe and also keeping oneself up to date".

I know, I know. As this too is my explanations when I found out that doing the 2 tasks I mentioned earlier falls under the procrastination category.

But, according to Dr. Gina Hiatt (PhD), reading emails and reading news is procrastinating. She suggested that the 2 (reading emails & news) can be done later in the day perhaps before noon. That way, people will be more focus and thus perform tasks better.

I procrastinate. I have this disease. And I'm trying very hard to 'heal' it. On my defends, I said I read emails and news so that I'm warming up to do more challenging tasks later on. But sadly, no matter how hard I tried to defense my reasoning, I still fail to defend it. As deep down my heart, I'm slowly agreeing to the fact that reading emails and news and even the checking my social networks page did falls under the category of procrastinating.

Dr. Gina said, we can warm up by doing simple tasks such as opening the files we're working on. Let our brain flow with ideas and capture all the ideas as much as we can. We can also try to time ourselves by setting a target. Be it, 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 45 minutes. During this time, try to discipline ourselves by ignoring all emails, phone or even people. Fuh, this a lot easier said than done.

InsyaAllah, I will try my best to be a better person. I write this topic simply because I like to share useful info with others. Because I believe sharing is caring.

To those who have similar 'disease' as mine, all the best. Let's try to improve our lifestyle and become a better person.

Yang remeh dan yang temeh

As me and husband drove to work this morning, the DJ of the Sinar FM played this song by Pak Pandir. It's been ages since we last heard of it. The melody of the song although seems to be so simple and repetitious, the meaning however is very powerful.

I said to my husband, hunny, this bit of the lyrics meant those who accept bribery. He nodded, agreeing to what I've said. And if you listen carefully, at certain bit of the song's lyrics, it highlighted the needs for us people to use your own judgment and not based on only your knowledge but also your faith and life principle.

It touches my soul and I suddenly feel so ashamed that I do not have a principle in life. I was soo bogged down with everyday routines that I forget to reflect on the importance of 'enjoying life responsibly'.

Additionally, just last night I came across a talk show by Prof Dr Muhaya at Astro Oasis. She inspires me about the need to think about positive things as it made the body more energetic and thus making one a healthy person. She also made me think about my life and the needs to contemplate and reflects on my principle and beliefs.

The 2 incidents stirs my soul and I am surprised that I tend to be more positive and I look at thing from another perspective starting from last night. I hope this emotions and energy stays and I hope to be a better person that manage to simplify challenges in life and respond positively towards negative things in life.

Enough said, here is the lyrics of Yang Remeh dan Yang Temeh by Pak Pandir. I certainly hope that this song could 'touch' your soul as how it has managed to 'touch' mine.

Fara

Ada mata pandang
Ada telinga dengar
Ada mulut diam
Ada tangan garu
Ada kaki goyang

Ada otak pandai
Ada akal pakai
Ada bijak gadai
Ada mata pejam
Ada mulut kunyah

Yang remeh dan yang temeh
Berlegar di sekelilingmu
Yang remeh dan yang temeh
Berlegar di sekelilingmu
Buatlah..(buatlah..)
Buatlah tak tahu
Buatlah..(buatlah..)
Buatlah tak tahu

Rela jadi tunggul
Rela jadi patung
Tunggu dilelong
Suruh angguk-angguk
Suruh geleng-geleng

Oh puji lah aku
Ampu lah aku
Senang hidupmu
Ada tangan tadah
Ada maruah campak

Yang remeh dan yang temeh
Berlegar di sekelilingmu
Yang remeh dan yang temeh
Berlegar di sekelilingmu
Biarkan..(biarkan..)
Biarkan berlaku
Biarkan..(biarkan..)
Biarkan berlaku

Useful info on Labour Act 1955

As I was reading about the Labour Act 1955, I came across this Sec 60D (1B) EA 1955.

This act is about Medical Leave on Public Holiday. I am sure many of us does not aware about your rights. In this section, it stated that should you fall sick on a declared public holiday and have attained a genuine Medical Leave Certificate from you panel clinic, you could claim your public holiday the following day.

Consequently, should your employer denies your right, you can claim this and they (your employer) could be penalized up to RM10,000.00 should he/she fail to comply under Sec 99A EA 1955.

I hope this info is useful, but don't misused it.
